Mykola Kovinya, PhD, the counsel of Pakharenko and Partners IP and Law Firm, will be moderating the session titled “Protecting Intellectual Property in pharmaceuticals industry”. In a brief interview about the event he said:
“Pharmacy is a very special industry that cannot develop without being closely connected with protection of intellectual property assets. At the Forum we will have an opportunity to discuss special approaches to protection of intellectual property, in particular about selective inventions and peculiarities of additional protection represented by the extension of the duration of a patent for pharmaceutical preparations. Another interesting topic for discussion will be the new use of the already known compounds.
Furthermore, we will also address the issue of biosimilar pharmaceuticals and will discuss the scope of rights arising from the set of essential features in the claims of the invention for genetic engineering products.”
